One of our committee members just put in merit badges for multiple scouts as a merit badge counselor. She isn’t able to approve the merit badges she just entered, and I, the committee chairk, am not able to approve them either for some reason. We both have all the necessary approvals in scoutbook plus. Is this an ongoing error? I am going to see if it will let us approve them tomorrow.
@MelissaEddings What is the name of the merit badge? And could you provide the member ID number for 2-3 of the Scouts?

@MelissaEddings The Chemistry merit badge is marked as completed, but not counselor approved.
What does that mean? Sorry, I am not a merit badge counselor and did not enter the badges. Another counselor did. Are you saying they entered the badge wrong?
@MelissaEddings The MBC needs to mark the merit badges as overall approved.
@MelissaEddings- here is the help section for merit badge counselor. There is a check box for counselor approval that THEY need to check and save.
I have a similar problem. I reviewed the help links above, but that hasn’t solved the problem. Scout ID 132132726.
The scout completed Cit. Community on 2/22/26, and the counselor marked it complete, but it shows 0% progress despite being marked complete. The final completion date is grayed out, and I can’t mark it approved.
The next merit badge is Personal Fitness. This one says approved and 100% complete, with a completion date of 2/18/26, but the scout’s advancement report has a little asterisk saying it hasn’t been leader approved, even though it appears to be approved and recorded on the scout’s Scoutbook Plus advancement page.
For Textile and Backpacking, I’m both the counselor and unit leader. Both say “Completed” in green, yet I can’t mark them as “Approved”.
@ShaunaWilliams - where are you looking at all of this ? In advancements.scouting.org or legacy scoutbook ? Could the on marked completed be a different version ? There are also two levels of approval.. the counselor and then the unit leader.

If I go to scoutbook.scouting.org, Personal Fitness is in blue, but the three others are green. Textile and Backpacking don’t show up on the Advancement report at all, and Personal Fitness and Cit. Community both have asterisks indicating they are pending leader approval. But I can’t figure out how to approve them.
Yeah - it looks like the MBC marked it Off with no reqs. I would need to see it to understand - I can setup a screenshare if you want

@ShaunaWilliams now that all Eagle Rank Requirement Dates are entered (except EBOR) the Scout is in a 2 year window past their 18th Bday to get the application and supporting items turned in. That does not have to happen before 18th Bday
