Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
I have a custom Roster Manager report that I have been downloading every week for the last year. About a month ago I lost access to the report. Every time I attempt to look at the report to download it, I get a message stating that I do not have permission. My profile has all permissions, so that shouldn’t be a problem. We looked at my permission profile and there is nothing left to check.
Note: Others in the troop are able to view the report. I have tried logging in on a different laptop and I have tried incognito. Neither helped, so no need to suggest.
Can someone please help me out? I’m out of ideas.
Here is the error: Access to report is denied. You do not have required positions/permissions to run this report. ref: PD-20260315224046-435514-722611
Based on posts from the SUAC in other threads, it seems like national has been fiddling with how reports work. There’s ongoing work trying to get everything sorted out again, but right now most units who are having issues are living with workarounds like having Key 3 or Key 3 Delegates run any reports folks have lost access to.
Reports run off Position first - @MichaelStahl you are Committee member which is a base position which is not job specific, that would be my initial guess. Unit giving the position of “Unit Support” solves most (not all) reports issues.
Thanks for that suggestion. Do you know how to tell what order my positions are listed? How would I fix this? Or more importantly, what should I tell my committee chairman? This is a new suggestion, so I’d like to try and see if it works.
One of the Key 3 can go to the Permissions Manager in SB+ (left side menu) and assign you the Unit Support functional role. It may take overnight to hit, although it’s usually been more-or-less immediate for me.
Make sure they click the correct save button when applying the permissions.
I had the same problem. I needed the roster to import into the ScoutChat phone app. one of my key 3 gave me the key 3 delegate role which fixed it for me.
