I had a custom report that I created in SB to list the rank of each Scout at a moment in time (as of the latest Court of Honor). Now that the Report Builder Manager has migrated to SB+, when I click on it in original SB, I am taken to SB+, but get an error report “Access to report is denied. You do not have required positions/permissions to run this report. ref: PD-20260115225029-784619-883014. Although I recently stepped down as the committee chair, I am still both a Key 3 Delegate and the Advancement Chair, as illustrated in the attached image, so it seems like I should still be able to run a custom report, especially one I had created.
Is the custom report for the boys troop or the girls troop?
Also, SB+ is sensitive to which role is selected in the drop-down menu at the top right. Mine insists on defaulting me to MBC instead of my troop role. Have you verified the right role/unit is selected?
I am experiencing this problem as well. I had several custom reports saved to examine rank progress across all our pack’s dens. Currently, my list of custom reports is empty. These reports were saved for months, and I know I did not delete them. Either they are inaccessible/hidden, or the system erroneously deleted them. I verified that I am using the same role (Key 3 Delegate) I’ve been using previously.
@WhitneyD hmmmmm - let us take a look to understand it
Same here. All Custom reports gone. Sometimes when I cannot get into Scoutbook PLuis, I can use Legacy and port across into it. All Blocked. Cache cleared, restarted, all normal “flush” procedures.
I was able to create a new report to do the work, so the back end is working, just not the user to report database connection. I’ll de-dupe reports when it comes back online. Thanks
Yeah it is like Databases are not lining up - it is being looked at
The custom reports are showing up again for me. Thanks!
The report was originally set up for the boys’ troop, but when the girls’ troop was formed last year, they were automatically added to the list by the system and I have successfully run it two or three times showing both. Are you thinking that SB+ is now rejecting it because I am only listed as a Key 3 delegate for the boys’ troop? If that’s the case, it should work if I can get the COR to assign me as one for the girls’ troop as well. (I had intended to make the assignment before I left the chair, as I had done with the boys, but the council moved faster on my request to change the committee chair position than I was expecting, and once it was done, I no longer had access to the girls’ troop leadership.)
I think that’s the difference. If the girls’ troop Key 3 aren’t on board with making you a delegate, there are permissions that I believe can be assigned to permit running reports. There’s more detail on that in the PDF linked from the blue banner/box at the top of these forums as to how those permissions work. That might be an acceptable “middle ground” for what they want you to be able to do for the unit. Or, I suppose they could recruit a replacement. That’s never more trouble than keeping your current volunteer. ![]()
