Error message when simply viewing a roster entry

When I view a youth profile, I am greeted with an error popup Error Your position(s) and related permissions do not allow you to perform this action. However, I can see the youth profile.

Presumably the page is attempting to load something whose permissions I lack (e.g., the program leadership assignment button). But why call attention to something vague I didn’t even know was missing? It’s a bumpy UX and the experience would be better if the popup simply didn’t manifest. After all, it’s not an error to not see things for which I lack permission.

@MichaelPomraning

I suspect the issue is coming from your registered position of Unit Scouter Reserve. From your permissions it appears you are serving as a Committee Member or Assistant Scoutmaster.

Thanks, @edavignon . The problem has been resolved another way, but, for my edification, what was the problem with being Unit Scouter Reserve and having other, more expansive permissions? How did that combination make the error message appear?

@MichaelPomraning

Some portions of Scoutbook Plus are restricted to certain positions. Because it is the weekend, I can’t ask the developers about your issue but I suspect part of the Scout’s profile is restricted to certain positions and that is generating the error.

Unit Scouter Reserve is a position for individuals who only help with the unit periodically. l suspect the developers did not expect that a USR would need access to a Scout’s profile.

Thanks, @edavignon .
