Error Your position(s) and related permissions do not allow you to perform this action

I am CC for the pack. I am able to accept new scout applications when I click on them to add them to a den, I get the error message: Error

Your position(s) and related permissions do not allow you to perform this action.

This has been going on for a week.

@Lauren_BrandiSmith we need exact details of when you see it to report it (no names - but include the MID of Scouts you might be trying to access) and the actions you are trying to take.

MIDs are: 141717483, 141718432

I get the error when I go to the Roster on Scoutbook Plus and click on the scout. They are new scouts and not currently assigned to a den. I am trying to click on their account to see what grade they are in to assign them to a den.

OK clicking on profile is a known bug - watch the change log for updates

I’m having this same “known” issue. I can not see or do anything with the new Scouts.

I came here to report the same thing, also with a new scout, and only that scout. Following.

I’m seeing the same error for a new Scout. I was able to add them to a Den (for which I’m the Den Leader), but whenever I try to see their profile now, I see the same error message.

Their profile ID is 14360593

I can see and edit our new scout’s profile info. Someone must have fixed something. THANK YOU!

Good Evening, I serve as an ASM and Merit Badge Counselor for Troop 0010B and 0010G. For the past two weeks I’ve been unable to perform any actions in Scoutbook Plus. When I go to the roster and click on any scout (0010B or 0010G), I get the same error discussed in this post:

Your position(s) and related permissions do not allow you to perform this action.

I’ve confirmed with our District Executive and Council that my positions are correctly assigned. I was added to both troops, and after 24 hours of sync, the error remains.

Troubleshooting attempted:

• Incognito browser

• Hard refresh

• Clear cache

None of these resolved the issue.

Do I need to provide the MIDs of all troop scouts to resolve this?

Reference MIDs:

• ASM/MBC MID: 141298146

• Parent MID: 140843940

• Daughter’s / Scout MID: 140843942

Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

@P.L,

This might be a different issue, but there was a post this morning in the change logs noting that Scouting America IT is still working on the ASM access issues.

Thank you so much for your prompt reply!

@P.L

If you are trying to complete and/or approve MB reqs or full MB as the MBC, use Legacy Scoutbook.

If you are trying to complete and/or approve as an ASM, this is the issue I described in a change log post earlier today.

I’m a Cubmaster and as of late Tuesday 9/9 this issue is still ongoing it seems. We have new scouts we’d love to get into dens but I get that “Your position(s) and related permissions do not allow you to perform this action.” error.

Unfortunately, the workaround suggested above using legacy scoutbook isn’t an option - when I try to Reassign Den in the legacy SB I get forwarded to the advancement platform and am presented with the same error as above.

MIDs 141768715, 141788309, 141788441

Thanks for any input/assistance!

@wduffee

I have reported this error.

@wduffee

Can you try with an incognito window

getting the same error for member ID 13307075 in scoutbook plus. Troop leaders and parent are unable to make any changes to the advancement.

I’ve already tried using incognito mode in the browser

Fortunately that seems to have worked for me. Thanks!

@RaviCheema

The problem was the Scout had the wrong member ID in Scoutbook. I have switched Scoutbook to his Member ID in your troop. Please try again.

@wduffee

We found another issue with the Scoutmaster Conference. If the Scout has had a Board of Review for 2nd Class the system will let you complete 2nd Class without the SMC being marked complete.

Watch Scoutbook - Scoutbook Plus Change Log - Scouting Forums for an announcement of a fix.

Thank you! We have access now and I was able to make the update, but every time I save an update I get the following error, but it seems like the update is complete.
