I was trying to walk through the merit badge counselor process, and ended up “starting” a merit badge for a brand new Scout. I found instructions for Scoutbook ( How do I remove a merit badge that was started? - Scoutbook Knowledge Base ) but that doesn’t seem to apply anymore? I found a thread here about Plus from last fall saying it was a request, is it still true that badges are “permanently started” if clicked?
There is no way to remove a started MB - there is a backstory to redefine it as started only if a req is done, an MBC is assigned or there are comments on the MB. But started MB does not effect the scout at all
@StevenYates1- you could try via legacy scoutbook
Roster > scout > scout merit badges > merit badge in question
No it’s not a problem but it “looks funny” to have an MB on someone who hasn’t earned Scout yet, and will be there until he reaches Eagle. At least there is a second step for me to approve it.

Ah! Thank you! That isn’t at all obvious because the version “button” is already selected/colored in. It’s been “removing” for a couple of minutes (I think I’ll leave it sit a while) but it is gone from Scoutbook Plus already.
