The ability to remove a merit badge was easy in Legacy. When that module moved to Scoutbook Plus, we lost the ability to remove the merit badge. All the posts relate to Legacy. I couldn’t find any in the Sep 2025 Scoutbook Plus version posts or updates. Common occurrence, scout decides not to do that merit badge. No method of removing it from the Pending bucket. Am I missing something? It is a non-starter to have to send in the BSA number all the time for the super user to remove.
Remove was different in Legacy. For a MB to be SEEN for a Scout in Legacy - there was a process to ADD the MB to the Scouts Account. In SB+ that is not needed, all MBs are already in for all Scouts.
We have asked for an MB to not say Started unless it has a Comment or a Requirement marked complete, not sure if/when that may change.
But having a MB started has no effect on the scouts.

At the moment, you can still remove a merit badge in Scoutbook (legacy). Here are the steps:
- In Scoutbook (legacy), go to the Scout’s page.
- Click on [Scout]'s Merit Badges.
- Click on the name of the merit badge.
- Click “For Requirements Entry by Merit Badge Counselors, click here”
- Click on the checkbox next to “Percent Completed”.
- Then click “Remove Merit Badge”.

It clutters up the Scout BSA History, and we would like to remove it. Does it now take your level to undo a started merit badge. It is confusing for the parents using Scoutbook Plus and for Advancement and coaches working with the scout on their “open projects”.
