Inaccurate Scout Account Balance Data in Scoutbook Plus Report Builder

Summary

There is a discrepancy between account balances shown in the individual Scout profiles/Legacy Payment Log and the balances generated via the Scoutbook Plus Report Builder. The Report Builder appears to be calculating incorrect balances for certain scouts, while the Legacy system and profile data remain accurate.

Description

When running balance reports using the new Scoutbook Plus Report Builder, the generated output shows inaccurate financial data for specific scouts. Cross-referencing these reports with the Scout’s individual profile page and the Legacy Payment Log confirms that the Report Builder is displaying incorrect figures, while the other two interfaces show the correct, synchronized balance.

This issue does not affect every scout in the pack, but it is recurring across multiple accounts.

• Scout ID: 140364871

• Expected Balance (via Profile/Legacy Report): $0.00

  • Total Charged: $1,676.00

  • Total Paid: $1,676.00

• Report Builder Result: -$150.00 (Inaccurate)

Expected Behavior

The Report Builder should show the same balance as the individual Scout profile and the Legacy Payment Log, resulting in a matching $0.00 balance for the scout in the example above.

@StephenMesa - i have never used the report builder for this as it doe not have a date range to capture accurate data. If the payment log report is correct including using the detail check box then the data is correct. Beyond that the payment log report is what you should use as it is designed for its purpose.

ETA - I see where it is pulling data from for the report builder - it is pulling info from legacy scoutbook data. I would not really recommend user report builder for this purpose

Acknowledged that there is a workaround for this, which is to just use the legacy Scoutbook payment log report. I wanted to surface this bug though in hopes that it can be fixed so the new report builder can function correctly and can be used instead moving forward (as I anticipate the legacy Scoutbook payment log report will want to eventually be retired)

@StephenMesa - the payment log report shown here is NOT legacy

There are no reports to be accessed in legacy if you click on the legacy scoutbook link an check it out.

The payment log report is NOT going away so please use that.
Thinking further on this as it is pulling that balance on report builder from legacy and legacy is being retired.. this may self resolve
