Citizenship In Society (CIS) Merit Badge and the Eagle Process
Citizenship In Society (CIS) Merit Badge can no longer be started in the Scoutbook Platform
- 12/31/26 will be the last date that can be entered for CIS completion
- CIS use in Star/Life rank will have no change - it can still be used as a Star/Life Eagle Required Merit Badge or one of the additional Merit Badges.
Eagle Rank - A New version of Eagle Rank is now available without the CIS Merit Badge as Eagle Required
- If a Scout has earned CIS and still wants it to be used for a Eagle Required Merit Badge they can switch to the 2022 version of the Eagle Rank. In order for this to happen, CIS has to first be complete and earned. Also if on the 2026 version, the only way to switch a scout to the 2022 version is to click on the requirement note on Requirement #3 of the Eagle Rank.
