Hello,
I’m looking into the best way to collect dues and payments for various events from families. I’ve come across these two posts which describe how to setup Paypal with Scoutbook. Is this still best practice? Are there other ways I should be looking to do this with Scoutbook?

Does it help track scout accounts value and debits?

Yes. It does that pretty well and we have used it since the feature was added. I’m happy you asked if it did that, because that is really its main / only feature. Tracking the details of the unit’s checkbook is mostly not a feature.

I see in the red Scouting mobile app, on the Account tab, there is a My Payment Logs button. Under my kids, I see there is a Payment Logs with an Outstanding and History as well.

Can payments be made directly from the Scouting app?

@RyanHendrickson the red Scouting app is unable to make payments. Just view the payment balance

Is the legacy Scoutbook website the only way to make payments at the moment?

Yes. Since there are links back and forth, one can view them as a single site with 2 interfaces.
