In Scoutbook + I like the feature “Activity Log”. This is really helpful for 2nd Class rank (participate in 5 activities) and 1st Class Rank (participate in 10 activities) and also for keeping track of camping nights for Camping Merit Badge and for OA eligibility. (The OA report is great by the way) SO - I can only choose from Service Hours, Camping or Hiking. We do lots of other stuff. Eagle Court of Honor, Attend local programs, Go Climbing at the Gym, etc. I would be happy with an “other” category. I realize that “other” would not enable downstream reports but it would enable more easily tracking everything in this log versus having to use excel also.
There have been requests for other categories (and, I think, an “Other” category) before, and SUAC has stated that it’s somewhere in the backlog. That’s neither a guarantee that the developers will eventually implement it, nor does it provide us with a timeline for implementation assuming it is picked up.
FYI, there is an attendance function in the calendar that can be used to track participation in unit activities where a binary yes/no for attendance provides enough data. There is an attendance report, although I don’t recall offhand how to generate it.
@ShawnWeck - the one thing to note is what are the log pages in the back of the scout handbook. Scoutbook was set up to match the handbook.
