Reporting Scoutbook & Scoutbook Plus Bugs

Before reporting bugs in Scoutbook Plus, please try a hard refresh (SHIFT+REFRESH) to force a reload of the page and bypass the cache. Developers are still optimizing which data is cached and which is retrieved live from the database.

When reporting issues with reports, please include the REF: number displayed at the bottom of the report. This allows the report developers to locate your report in the log files for faster debug.

Press “SHIFT+REFRESH”?
What is “REFRESH”? I don’t have a key with that word on it.
Is it F5? If so, I will press “Shift+fn+F5”.

@RichardMasterson

Click the browser refresh button while holding the shift key.

@Stephen_Hornak
Gavel.io suggests another way: Ctrl+F5. Of course, Shift+Reload Arrow could work, as far as I know. I like your suggestion of Shift+Reload Arrow. Thanks.

Quote from Gavel.io:

A hard refresh clears your browser cache for a specific page, which forces it to load the most recent version of that page. This could include new scripts, styles or features.

Important: Clicking the “Refresh” arrow on your browser address bar is not a hard refresh. Here’s how you can clear your cache through a hard refresh on any browser:

Google Chrome

  • Windows users: hold down Ctrl and then press F5 on your keyboard
  • Mac users: hold down Cmd and Shift and then press R on your keyboard

@RichardMasterson - which ever method works best for you. The goal is to refresh the site cache

I have an issue for a BSA member (member ID: 12850956). This user has the Nature merit badge showing as both an Eagle-required elective merit badge, as well as for the Bronze palm. I believe this defect occurred because the Nature merit badge was earned in 2019, before the changes for Cit in Society took effect in 2022. Can you please correct this discrepancy in Scoutbook for this user?

@ChristopherStiltner - what version of eagle rank is the scout on?

Verizon 2022. Also, sounds like Nature is displaying twice, but Geology is not showing under Eagle nor as a palm. Sounds like Geology needs to replace Nature on the Bronze palm since it was completed after Nature.
