FWIW, two years is 730.48 days. That is, until you start taking scouts camping on Mars.
This goes back to what Iāve been saying about ypt⦠the rules are poorly thought out, sometimes contradictory and often next to impossible to follow. this is what happens when you donāt engage the boots on the ground prior to writing policy. the rules make for good sound bites but realistically simply serve to confuse and muddy the waters.
but the lines need to make sense.
Do agree. Previously my understanding was less than 3 years but certainly understand that was incorrect.
Back to my original post if a report is made available in scoutbook or my.scouting, there shouldnāt be as much confusion if itās setup based on official BSA ypt rules.
Not entirely correct, since that ignores Venturing and Sea Scouts, which are open to young people older than 14 and younger than 21.
Except an 18 year old Venturer cannot share a tent with a 17 year old.
Yeah it is better to say āonce someone is 18 they are no longer a youth participantā
Yeah Iām in a troop so other program rules am not as familiar with. The report might have different rules based on unit type.
With a venture crew an 18 year old can tent with someone under 18 but within 2 years difference? Edit understand this might have been answered above that I missed
Yep, this addresses that question. Itās captured by the G2SS rule that adults (18+) may not tent with youth (< 18), with limited exceptions as noted in the G2SS.
