Scout Rejoining Unit

I have a Cub Scout that took 18 month off from Scouting. Two questions

1. How does he rejoin without paying the new member fee - does he need his BSA #
2. How get him reloaded into Scoutbook.

For all, we had this recently. A unit or parent can look this up with Scout’s name, birthdate, and zip code. If the council / unit allows online apps. It actually asks was this person a Scout before? It asks for the id, if you don’t have it, you can supply that info to look it up. Then it links you and you don’t get charged the $25 fee.

I agree. All of this can be done by going to beascout.scouting.org and finding your unit as long as the parent relationship is set properly in Akela, the member database.
