Scoutbook Plus Adventure progress not reflecting correctly

Outdoor adventurer - there is not one for 2024 that I can think of - what rank level?

@stephaniebettilyon On Outdoor - just clear the old date and you can go to the 2024 version then

Personally, I would never clear a legit completion. I’d deal with this issue on the side somehow.

@jacobfetzer in this situation I think you have to - as Rank completion is tied to Adventures and you cannot get around it - need to test it at some point

Is the issue that it’s giving them credit too soon or not at all? If the former, keep track on the side and don’t award the rank if it’s not done. If the latter, mark the overall rank complete when it’s all done.

hmm it looks like the 2024 honors the old one?

That is what I recalled. So, giving them credit too soon.

Well in a situation where a den or scout worked ahead perhaps

it was awarded bc they worked on it as webelos/aols
visiting a troop etc. so it was all completed in the old version and the new version we can’t on those that completed the older version. It is all grayed out. I agree too, I don’t want to erase a completion. so we shall see what happens once we come closer to making rank, if I need to erase and put in the newer version.

When you were webelos, you were allowed to work on AOL stuff if you completed webelos adventures; which some of ours did. the new version is accepting the old version completions which is great but then it needs to show “awarded” instead of “not started”

I think I will have to play around with it and see what happens.

Thank you for all your help. Hopefully with the other issues from our previous talk, it will get resolved soon. Thanks again.

Im having the same issue with all scouts. We only use advancements site to input now and for us this is a new thing.

I luckily keep a seperate spreadsheet for quick view of progress, but man is it annoying to see a bunch of kids at 13% done when I know they are closer to 50% and then have to click on things that say not started only to find out that they are complete.

And then to have pending “items to approve” and then go there and theres nothing to approve and then even go to legacy scoutbook and there are no things to purchase, no things to award and no items to approve.

This is all starting in the last couple days, before this its been fine. Probably something to do with allowing people to update 2 seperate systems coming back to bite.

As has been said multiple times, it is a known issue that adventures are not appearing with the correct status. You can use Report Builder to create a report that shows you the current status of all in your pack until this gets fixed.

The developers are working on a fix but at this time we do not know when it will be ready for release.

Just wanted to make sure its really punched in. We are good. We have our own system of tracking as back up.

Also just a note, its weird but it seems to only be affecting the “required” adventures. The kids electives show up properly.

agree same issue here - I had already logged a few Webelos adventures as complete that he accomplished in July and august but now it won’t let me choose the old version yet doesn’t mark the adventure as complete. it doesn’t show completion or partial completion status for the required adventures = only the elective adventures

where can we find the change log?

We understand that this is a known issue but the scope of those who know is limited.
I expect, and hope, that people will continue to report and follow-up until this is resolved because a squeaky hinge gets the oil.
The fact that this issue breaks a key feature of Scoutbook (which is the only way we can record and reflect progress globally) and causes confusion justifies the repeated posts.
I hope it is understood that we understand this is a known defect but I also hope it is understood that the entire user community is seeing this problem.
I am encouraged that the problem has been acknowledged and am pulling for those developers to have a solution in place soon.

@stephenrosinbaum

Telling us you have the same issue when we have stated it is a known problem does not change the priority. All it does is take the time of the volunteer members of the SUAC to respond once again that it is a known issue.

We do not control the workload of BSA IT nor do we prioritize it. We have already told IT they need to make this top priority but we cannot force them to work any faster on a fix. Remember the BSA does not have the budget of Microsoft or Apple. They are doing the best they can with the resources (IT dollars) that they have.
