Please advise status of v0.49.0.12 given the recent merit badge counselor function transition to Scoutbook+.

The Feature Assistant Extension is only for Legacy Scoutbook. It does not work with Scoutbook Plus.

Do any of the functions still work through Legacy Scoutbook or should it be uninstalled?

@PaulStrasma most are incorporated native to SB+ - what specifically are you looking for?

Is there a particular feature of the extension that you would like to see added to native Scoutbook Plus?

I need to be able to email the parents their scout’s account balance. Is there a way to do that in Scoutbook Plus? I used to use the extension to do that in Scoutbook Legacy.

Why yes. I provided that exact link to a Troop Merit Badge coordinator.

Unfortunately the section on Assigning / Connecting a Merit Badge Counselor to a Scout for a Badge does not address the workflow of a troop-level coordinator assigning multiple scouts to a counselor. Scoutbook Feature Assistant handled this workflow adequately.

The add youth in bulk feature requires a counselor to obtain and enter memberIDs.

So can a troop leader continue using the legacy Scoutbook Feature Extension to assign multiple youth to start a badge with a counselor? Or will continued use of that tool cause problems?

It appears the specific workflow I was seeking has been replicated in the Bulk Assign Counselor to Youth. Adding a description of this screen to the guide after the section Searching the Merit Badge Counselor List would be appreciated.

@GaryFeutz is listed as the author of the extension on the Chrome store. Should this tool include a deprecation warning or be removed?

@PaulStrasma - i added the bulk assign to the help guide. I would gather that no more work or updates will be made to the feature assistant as the legacy scoutbook will also no longer have development work done.

@PaulStrasma - there is still the batch upload from black pug camps, message tool for MBC and the pay log balance message to be programmed into plus. Those are the remaining features that I am aware of. But beyond those very limited items legacy will eventually see its sun-set

I’m not sure if the mb upload works any more… it used legacy SB advancement.

I don’t have access to production SB any more as I am no longer in a unit, so it makes it tough to know what the environment looks like today.

I am waiting to hear what works still - if nothing does, I will deprecate the extension. I can also pull non-working features if I know what they are.

I believe the features that Stephen mentioned should still be available for the time being.
