SUAC Information

FYI: SUAC Members are here to help, we are all volunteers with full time jobs, Scouting units and other Scouting/volunteer avocations. Some are tasked with actively solving users IT Tech issues (which are often not fast or simple). We are tasked with seeing development before it is released to public, trying our best to hit it from every angle to find holes and bugs that will affect end users. We are tasked with answering the questions we can on the forums which are now restricted to Tech issues/Bugs, as opposed to policy decision or “how to Scout” questions that where in the old forums or Social Media channels.

We always ask first “how does this affect our users?” - as all of us are SB Users first. Some changes that are made, or timing of changes, SUAC might not agree with, but it is not SUAC’s decision on items like that. In testing we will point out - if you do this, this happens to end users, but the final decision is not ours.

That being said, we are under a NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) with Scouting America (that we take seriously) for what we see in helping in development and know of updates of the system; so we cannot always give as clear of an answer as might be desired. If we say that is a Council issue, that is basically us honestly saying there is nothing SUAC can do or explain about this issue, so the only recourse is Council caring about it enough to take action.
