As a COR delegate and having permission s- or at least Scoutbook + says I do - I’m unable to add persons to any activity log events for my troop – my MID: 129671747
I have my leader role selected – however my troop position displays Committee Member instead of Key 3 Delegate:
Permissions manager shows I have the permissions
But when I go to ‘ADD PERSONS’ to an activity log I see no data
Thoughts on what’s happening?
@bryanscouting I guess first simple question is “Is everyone already listed?”
@bryanscouting- and your selected view appears to be the pack
Hey @DonovanMcNeil – no, only four people are listed. this is only happening for the troop where i see no date – i’m able to see the roster when I select my Crew or Pack
Troop activity log view
Pack activity log view
Crew activity log view
(and thanks @Stephen_Hornak – pasted the wrong screenshot)
@bryanscouting- it is interesting that it shows committee member and not cor delegate. Is the delegate role listed in my.scouting.org
COR/CUR delegate does appear in Position Manager – maybe I need to add myself as a Key 3 Delegate as well? I do have the ‘Key 3 Delegate’ Functional Role for the Pack and Troop… but as a COR Delegate I would think I would inherit those permissions as well?
Yes something is odd - it is reported in

thanks @DonovanMcNeil – dm or email me if you need any other info – thanks and happy holidays!
FWIW + FYI @DonovanMcNeil – as a temporary fix, I was able to assign myself as a Key 3 Delegate, and I now have the ability to create/edit Activity Logs – so that addressed the immediate issue…
@bryanscouting
We suspect there is a bug in the reporting of permissions for CORD. CORD allows the individual to approve applications and reassign positions. To get the rest of a Key 3’s permissions, you need Key 3 Delegate (K3D).
We will not get confirmation on the issue until the new year.
Just as a point of reference, this is how those functional roles behaved for our unit prior to the changeover of the permissions structure as well. Again, not confirmation of design intent, but definitely consistent with prior behavior.
Same here. Who built this system. I am the Advancement Chair and unable to add activity logs.
@EbrahimDadabhoy- has the key 3 of the unit worked on your permissions as this is normally not the responsibility of the advancement chair
Mmmh. Let me ask them to update my permissions
@EbrahimDadabhoy- the information is in the blue box at the top of the forum
Thanks, I see it above and in my role as a committee member. However, I am not a Key 3 member. I would think the Advancement chair would have responsibility to update the activity. I have been having issues with purchasing Advancements as well with Scoutbook Plus. I understand there is going to be bugs, but this is too much for a volunteer.
Each unit works differently. The “base” permissions appear to be defined based on the scope of responsibility outlined in the Scouting America descriptions for each registered role. As a result, where unit practices differ, there will be a need for the units to set up alternative/added permissions. The granularity of the permissions under the new system is a lot better than the system that existed under the classic Scoutbook (where a combination of Connections and some fairly broad scopes of permissions – View/Edit Profile, View/Edit Advancement, Full Control – defined the limits of what units could use to control access by scouters.
However, during any transition period where the changes are this significant, there will be a need for the users to engage with the changes and apply the more granular permissions where the defaults are not adequate for their specific use case.
If you can provide specifics as to the issues you’ve been seeing with advancements, the SUAC volunteers may be able to help diagnose the issue, and assuming it’s a bug, get it reported.

Hello @DonovanMcNeil .
I am having a very similar issue with not being able to add participants to my Troop’s Activity Logs…the roster just says “No Data”. I have already read numerous forum threads regarding needing permissions to be given to me in Scoutbook Plus from Key 3 personnel. I have worked through this permissions process multiple times now with our Scoutmaster and we both believe I should have proper permissions to do this. I can currently create and add events, but I can not add participants.
Can you please review and advise on what is wrong?
Thank you,
Kevin LaBeau (Troop 250)
@KevinLabeau- what permissions did you get ?
@KevinLabeau For the troop, the Scoutmaster needs to grant you:
Activity Approver/Creator/Remover/Editor
and possibly also:
Calendar Editor
