New Features

  • As Scoutbook (legacy) transitions to Scoutbook Plus, report access has changed and you may not be able to use reports you used in Legacy. This is due to a new security system that controls which reports each user can access.

In Scoutbook Plus, access to reports is determined by a security matrix that considers several factors, including:

    • Your registered position with the unit
    • Any functional positions assigned to you
    • Certain permissions listed in your Scoutbook Plus profile

Every unit runs different. This security Matrix was setup using the guidance from the Guide To Advancement. Because of this change, some users may find that a report they previously used is no longer available to them or will not run. This usually means the report requires a specific role or permission under the new system.

If a report does not appear or will not run, please check the following:

    • Your position selected in the Scoutbook Plus dropdown menu
    • Your Scoutbook Plus permissions listed on your profile page
    • Check the Access Matrix PDF (below) and whether the report requires a specific role in the new system

Some reports have intentionally limited access. In certain situations, assigning the Support functional position may allow access to additional reports. This position is similar to the former “Admin” role in legacy Scoutbook, although it does not provide the same level of access to data or system functions.

During the transition period, while legacy Scoutbook remains available, some reports may still rely on connections to the legacy system. This can occasionally cause report access to appear inconsistent.

A PDF of the Reports Permission Matrix can be found - and will be up to date - on the top right of the Reports Page of SB+
