Activity Log Report / Camping

Having issues with Activity Log reports. Trying to get camping logs for our up coming COH. I had this same issue last COH, but didn’t know until after the COH when scouts said they were missing their recognition. I re-looked at reports and those scouts weren’t listed. Getting ready for our next COH, and having the same issue. I now know about it ahead of time, so trying to figure out why… Never had this issue before last COH, so it seems to be something since Jan 2025.

Several scouts do not show up in the report at all. Other scouts for the same event do. They were all logged as attending in the calendar events. So it’s not an issue with the event. Also, If I go to the scouts individual logs, the events are there. But running the camping log report for the troop, some scouts don’t show up.

Haven’t looked at every scout yet, but seems to be about half the troop not showing up in the report…

I have done some testing… I am trying to run the report from 1/1/25 to 4/30/25. If I run it from 1/1/24 instead, some (but not all) of those missing scouts show up with the current missing events after 1/1/25 (and all the previous year I don’t need)… If I run from 1/1/23 more missing scouts show up including the new events. 1/1/22 more show up including the new events.

Any help would be appreciated.

@DavidDavis4 at the bottom of the report with good dates there should be a REF # - you can post that

and then add Scout Member # is missing from event on 2/2/25 - as an example.

@DavidDavis4 can you try again please posting the data, and like I said post the Scouts Member # ONLY - no names. AND the exact name and date of a missing event for them.

should have these events show up in the first report. They do show in the second report.

@DavidDavis4 :ok_hand: thanks

Maybe some help in figuring it out… I figured I would take the 2022-2025 Data Pull the CSV file and filter it to get the Data I needed… But the CSV didn’t have all the data that was showing me in the report on the screen… On the attached screen shot (of scout 12834958) from the report, you will see the log is split by “Totals”. Nothing after that totals line is in the exported CSV. That may be what’s happening internally as well.

@DavidDavis4 so all of these 2025 items - are the activity Logs attached to a Calendar Event?

Most (the Troop events) are calendar events where the camping attendance was added to the calendar event. As are older events. The one called Crossover camp was a pack campout, and the nights were added as a camping activity log, and not a calendar event.

Actually, my info above about the CSV is incorrect. I didn’t realize it put the “Totals” word in the same column as the scouts names, and it messed up the formula I had written. The Data is in the 2022-2025 CSV. I still think it may have something to do with that as it is the events after that total line. but the CSV does have the data.

So some other weird things… I’m trying to review the logs (1/1/25-5/1/25) and I know there are missing scouts from the logs. I check to see who is missing based on my roster. Then I run the report again, and some scouts that were missing show up, and new ones are missing. But my total number of scouts in the log stays the same (49 scouts).

In the 1/1/25-5/1/25 logs, If I look at the Troop Games campout (as an example, others do the same), it says I had 26 scouts attend that event. In the 1/1/24-5/1/25 logs, it says I had 29 scouts attend that event. In the 1/1/23-5/1/25 logs, it says I had 35 scouts attend that event. If I go to the actual event, There are 42 scouts that attended.

@DavidDavis4 please try to run it again

On quick review, it looks good. I will print at work, and compare to my manual list to verify. But all the scouts I was mentioning above appear correct.
Thanks!

@DonovanMcNeil. Please share the nature of this issue and the remedy. I recently experienced similar issue with log reports. Knowing the cause and remedy helps us understand if this is something we can correct ourselves (“user error”), or if it is a systems issue, and explain if corrected or not completely resolved (with an ETA to solution).

I am experiencing similar issue. When we have an activity associated with a calendar event I mark the attended scouts / leaders and save.
There is a past event/activity that is now adding our new scouts who just crossed over this year to past events in 2024.

Please advise how to correct.
Is it better to create the activity separately from the calendar event?
Also I noticed when I am marking who attended I still have to go to the attendance and manually remove everyone else or the numbers of camping nights or volunteer hours are super inflated.
Thank you

Has this been resolved? we are trying to implement best practices and would like to know.

What ever the issue was, they fixed it as all reports are working correctly, for me at least. Both entering attendance through calendar events, or as standalone activity logs.
