Adding a parent to a scout

Request help adding parent with SB ID 14172772 to her son’s parent connection who has SB ID 12385609.

She has another son she is connected to and is both of their Den Leader. Her husband is the Pack Leader. I’ve been unable to add their connection using the new Scoutbook Plus even though I’m a Key 3 member. She’s tried asking for help through counsel and have not responded yet over some time.

What needs to be done to fix this connection?

Greatly appreciate the help in advance.

@BrendanEvans Legacy Scoutbook is still where connections are made either by units or the parents themself under My Connections (clicking the Parent Connection in top text)

@BrendanEvans The children are in the same unit (pack), correct?

The easiest way in this case might be to use the “Connections Manager” in legacy Scoutbook.

  1. In Scoutbook (legacy), go to the Pack Roster or the den page of the Scout.
  2. Click on “Connections Manager”.
  3. Find where the parent and the Scout intersect on the matrix.
  4. Click on the intersection and connect the parent with Full Control permissions.
  5. Then go back to the Pack Roster or the den page of the Scout and click on the Scout’s name.
  6. Click on [Scout]'s Connections.
  7. Check the box next to “Parent / Guardian”.
  8. If applicable, check the box next to “Adult Leader”.
  9. Click “Update” to save.
