Adding Position and Role

I am trying to assign den leader for AOL den to a registered adult but AOL Den 1 is not selectable. I did not see an option in Scoutbook Plus to assign Den Leader. I have the individual as a Den Admin.

@SaraBanks- all den assignment and management should NOT be done in classic scoutbook.

AOL Den Leaders are not in legacy Scoutbook. Just go to Scoutbook Plus and use Edit Den to add the DL to the proper Den.

Adult Position BSA # 13398190 - I was trying to add her as an ASM to a specific control. The prompt said to delete her then add back. Did not give the option to delete so I end dated her position for 10/9/25 so I could add her as the Starry Knight Patrol ASM on 10/1/25——- Now I can’t find her at all. Please advise.

I don’t know how to send you the screenshot. But all I need is her added back to the roster please.

I requested a position sync. She should be back on your troop roster within 24 hours.

We would like to know where you saw that so we can potentially change it if it’s providing incorrect instructions.

Thank you I can now see her back on the roster. However, now when I try to make her the adult leader for the Starry Knight Patrol the system will not connect her. Please attach her as the adult leader/ASM of Starry Night.

@MakeiseFaison-Ricks are you using Scoutbook+ to add her to patrol - that is the correct way - and if you just added her back into the system you need to wait 24 hours

Legacy Scoutbook should ONLY be used for Unit Messages, Payment logs, and MBC Functions

I’m using scoutbook to add her as the Starry Knight ASM. I don’t see how I can add her as the Starry Knight ASM in scoutbook plus. If you can’t do it…can you provide me instructions and I’ll try.

@MakeiseFaison-Ricks You can still do it in Scoutbook (legacy). Here are the steps:

  1. Go to the Troop Roster page.
  2. Click on the person’s name.
  3. Click “+ Add Position / Role” (at the bottom).
  4. For Position, select “Assistant Scoutmaster (SA)”.
  5. For Patrol, select: “Starry Night Patrol”.
  6. For Date Started, enter the date started.
  7. Click Update to save.

Check to make sure that the position is approved (green shield with checkmark). If you don’t see the green shield with checkmark, click on the position, check the box next to “Position Approved”, and click “Update” to save.
