Advancement Chair and SB+ - Seeking a General Tutorial

Hello,

Is there a general tutorial for Advancement Chair Scoutbook + use? I have questions that I am not seeing generally addressed in the forum

  • Do I need a specific role assigned to me as advancement chair?
    • If so, where do I set that in SB+?
  • Should I be able to see and manipulate electronic blue cards currently in progress in SB+?
    • I often get questions about the state of a blue card progress, but I don’t know where to go to see progress in a live BC. I typically only see them hit after they have been signed and processed by the MB counselors.
    • I want to be able to support MB C’s who may be less digitally saavey and help them process, especially when we are close to the COH and I need to process the PO.
    • I am not an MB counselor and thus do not have the designation in the system.
  • Generally, the SB+ advancement features issues have been worked out, and I am an official convert - I really like it! I want to pour gas on the process and get more efficient.
    • Any tips and tricks documentation?
  • Is there a general guide to advancement activity in SB+?

@AlexMauer to start with - Scoutbook Plus for Troops, Crews and Ships - Scoutbook Knowledge Base - there is a video here that is a good overview.

Also - these links are helpful - A major focus of the migration to Scoutbook Plus is to have positions mirror the positions shown in My.Scouting to ensure positions were reflected accurately in both platforms. The main purpose it to honor the guidance of our charter organizations and the positions they approve. Therefore, Scoutbook Plus does not use Legacy Scoutbook positions. Registered positions are used to provide base permissions. Some additional permissions can be added by the unit, however, there are restrictions on what can be given. See the updated Scoutbook_Permissions.pdf and the Scoutbook Plus permissions video for more details.   1. UAC (Unit Advancement Chair) is a Functional Position Key3 can assign in SB+ or my.scouting.org. You have that role for Ts1 B&G
  2. At a Base Level you should be able to open and print Blue Cards
    On POs look at the Permission sheet.
