Are the Cub Scout and Boy Scout Forums Gone for good?

The same few leaders show up to these events. Very few active unit leaders over the past few years. And my district is the largest and most active in our council. Even less information getting out if you expect in person programs to take care of this.

When will BSA re-open the forums for general discussion?

Based on the original post in the BSA Announcements thread, I’d say they aren’t planning to do so.

Works just fine for me and several others. Met one just today who switched over. I’ve never received a security risk notification soooooo, you must be FBI, CIA, or NSA.

The BSA would like you to go to your local council for program assistance.

If that was a viable option, we wouldn’t ever need forums, yet here we are…or were. But I’m assuming that most councils are like mine and overworked, understaffed, and don’t have the time or patience.

@AndrewBrewer

Ask your Council to request the BSA restore the program forums. They are the only ones that might be able to convince the folks in Irving to restore them.

@AndrewBrewer - this is what I get

Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead

Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to nevadabsa.org. If you visit this site, attackers could try to steal information like your passwords, emails, or credit card details.

What can you do about it?

The issue is most likely with the website, and there is nothing you can do to resolve it. You can notify the website’s administrator about the problem.

Way too much logic in that post.
I will miss reading your posts

There’s the difference, I’m using Chrome. Apparently Google doesn’t care about my security.

Hey, those dinosaurs came way after me!

Will miss reading your posts.

I suspect @AndrewBrewer was aiming at https://www.scouter.com, rather than .org

Yup, my bad! Didn’t even realize

Round Tables should be more reliable than internet discussion forums. That is what they are designed for. And that is where the BSA wants you to go. There, to your commissioner, and if needed to your council support folks.

Round tables happen at most once per month. Council offices are only open M-F 9-5.
The forums were 24x7.
