Auto Add Future Scouts Still Not Working

Much like others, both the Pack and Troop that I’m involved with are dealing with the calendar bug where new scouts are not auto added to events on our calendar. Some of these are events that we loaded last summer and others are more recent. “New” scouts include transfers as well as brand new scouts.

@JillHamilton as this is hard for us to see - on the events is the FUTURE SCOUT checkbox marked off?

It was checked to auto-add future youth, leaders, and parents/guardians (all three boxes checked) but a scout that transferred into our unit two months ago (and his parent) were not in the expanded list of recipients for RSVP/Attendance. I manually corrected it earlier today without first grabbing screenshots.

Within our pack, I noticed it a while back and manually corrected all of our meetings and events. All of the calendar entries had ben created during the summer, so any family that joined at the beginning of the school year was missing the event reminders until I noticed it a few months ago.

What is the fix?

Well having examples is the first step - fixed examples do much less good

Sure, however it’s important to fix these when we find them to ensure our families are informed. I’ve read conflicting threads – is it fixed going forward with new events created?

It is supposed to be - which makes answering the question difficult

Hello, I have the same issue (auto add future boxes are all checked) and currently have a new youth member who has not been added to my invitee list, yet is on my roster. I have not corrected it yet in hopes of providing information for a fix. What info do you need?

@ColleenSchaffer what are Unit/dates/names of 2-3 events they are not added to? What are a few Membership # (no names) of the effected Scouts?

Hi, Donovan,
Forgive my hesitation, but I didn’t want to post the youth’s member ID# online as I just don’t know the possible outcomes of that and it just doesn’t sit well with me. I am hoping this is a direct email just to you.
If it is, I will reply again and include the youth’s member ID.

I have been fixing this multiple times over the past couple of weeks, so I currently only have 1 youth that I know is not being included.

Unit: BSA Troop 320, Flourtown, PA
Event: Canoe Trip Instruction, 5/9/26
Event: Canoeing and Camping Trip 6/19 - 6/21/26
Event: Troop meeting: 6/11//26 7pm

Thank you for your help and understanding.

@ColleenSchaffer an isolated Member # with no Name is perfectly safe to post - and that will give me the precise info to pass along to investigators instead of looking through all the scouts in unit trying to figure out the one.

Ok, thank you.

ID# 13886032

OK thanks - hopefully that is good data - I sent it all in.
