Can't add self parent relationship

I don’t know if this is a bug, per se, but I’m one of the Key3 for my Troop. For some reason, I’ve been lost as a parent for my kids. I can add my WIFE as a parent for the kids (2 of them have NO parents), but I’m not allowed to add myself. While I’m sure there’s some form of a safety/security rationale behind this, it feels a lot like a bug to not be able to add myself as a parent; I can imagine a situation where one of the Key 3 is the only parent associated with Scoutbook and has no way around this.

This is working as designed. An adult cannot add a parent relationship for themselves.

All Scouts are supposed to have at least one parent/guardian in Akela. There should not be any cases where there is no adult listed in the relationship section of Scoutbook Plus. If there is not, your Council will need to fix it because there won’t be an existing parent/guardian to approve the new relationship.

OK, so there’s a weirdness (although maybe it’s OK). Somehow we ended up with one of my kids with no parent guardian (We just moved him from Cubs, so I have no idea how that happened) and I could add my wife as a parent. Maybe she was there but not displayed; Another of my kids didn’t show her either, but after I added her to my youngest, she suddenly appeared there.

I see relationships between A, N and T with parent CS in the membership database. You should see these under Relationships in Scoutbook Plus. I see what appears to be a duplicate account for CS with the initials CW.

CS can log into Scoutbook Plus (https://advancements.scouting.org), select each Scout, click the + next to relationships and add you to all 3 Scouts. She should use the search by Member ID to find your record in the database.
