Hi,
We have a parent (BSA id: 13880396) who is trying to connect to scout (BSA id: 13880144) and is unable to. As Scoutbook admin for our Troop, I got an error trying to add a parent.. Is this something one of the admins can help with connection?

@SunilMurthy are you trying to use the + under relationships on Scout Profile in SB+? What is the error you get?
@SunilMurthy 13880144 has no active registrations
@SunilMurthy the fathers LN is mis-capitalized by council - it is BHar——–
The scout is active in our troop.. Here are additional identification info
SB User ID: 11900614
Member ID: 140850433
Previous Member ID: 13880144
Yes, I am trying to add a parent using the + under relationships after I click on the scout profile. I get “User has no access to this API” error
This is after the known scouting ID search returned the correct parent info..
Currently only Key 3, Key 3 Delegate or a parent with an existing relationship in the membership database can add a new relationship.
Thank you. I will suggest the existing parent to invite the other parent.
Hi,
I’ve been using the same process to try to add my wife to our son’s account and I’m running into a similar issue. I thought maybe her account was too new, she just made it yesterday, but I’m still getting errors when trying to connect her to my son’s account.
Is this something the pack leader might be able to do, or does he see the same thing I do as the existing parent connection?
What is the error?
The main error is “person record does not exist with the requested attributes”.
Anyway, heard back from the pack leader and he’s seeing the same issue so he said he sent it to our council’s support group. So I guess it probably wasn’t just me trying to do it wrong.
What is your wife’s Scouting America Member ID (no names)?
Her ID is 141937139
Appreciate any assistance.
@RyanBerlin the name is not Capitalized in the system - try it undercase
There is a change in development to make the search case insensitive.
Thanks both of you. That seems to have worked. Sorry if that was in the FAQ somewhere, I didn’t notice it.
I’m having the same issue. Both my wife and I are getting messages that we are not connected to our son, even though we’ve been connected and leaders for 7+ years. When I log in i can see her listed (even though shes getting message that shes not). She tried to add me, but gets the error listed above saying that she can’t, I can’t add myself, and I’m a key 3. I tried adding her again (since shes getting the message that she isnt connected) but system tells me shes already connected. This whole Scoutbook Plus has been nothing but headaches since it came around.
The message is saying you do not have a relationship in Akela, the membership database, it is not referring to Legacy Scoutbook connections.
You are not connected to E in Akela.
Your wife has 2 Scouting America Member IDs, one is registered and not connected to E or N and the other is only connected to E.
Because your wife has the relationship on the wrong MID, I recommend contacting your Council staff and asking them to use the relationship tab of registrar tools to remove the relationship to E from your wife’s MID ending in 069 and add a relationship to both E and N to the MID ending in 878.
For you, they should add a relationship to E.
I will clean up her Scoutbook accounts and add her unregistered MID as secondary to her my.scouting.org ID.
