Clarification of advancement recording

Hi

Just checking on advancement tracking.

Unit enters merit badges and ranks. Gets approved. Gets a purchase order.
Does it need to be marked awarded to have it show up in My.Scouting, and the commissioner tools reports? Or does it just need to be approved?

Our Council Commissioner is having a coronary over low advancement numbers. I am going with the theory as long it is approved, advancement should show up, that it doesn’t need to be “awarded”.
Any thoughts?

Approved and it is official and recorded - Awarded is just Audit data. Tell the commish to worry about the new metrics not the old ways.

Approval is what pushes all awards to my.scouting. Awarded is just for unit record keeping to know they handed the Scout the award.

trust me, I did, but there was a lot of babbling, and well, I lost track of what they were saying.
