i have a scout that joined in 5th grade, working towards his arrow of light. when i input his completion of the Fix It badge for his elective, it is applying it towards the webelos badge not the AOL. how do i assign it correctly?

Go to the Scout’s page, select Edit Profile and make sure Working Towards is set to Arrow of Light (AOL has tan background)
Go into the scout’s profile and set the “Working towards” toggle to Arrow of Light. It defaults to Webelos.
It is now set to AOL but it is still counting it towards Webelos.
There is a known error where some people see the behavior you are seeing. The fix is in final test and should be released soon.
In the past, you had to add the completion on the adventure after changing the working towards toggle.
