Council Admin Assigning

I have the instructions for legacy scoutbook for adding a council admin… but my scout exec cannot see those options in legacy scoutbook. How does he add council admins now?

@MartinMcNichols - I thought a council admin should be able to add another admin. It may be that the scout executive is not an admin

Right… But if we have no initial admin, then what steps need taken to get one?

I am not sure if there is an equivalent role now to that other than staff. I am checking

I think there is a Function role of Council Admin in registrar tools - that role is honored in SB+.

@MartinMcNichols

There is no dedicated Scoutbook Plus Council Admin (CA). Council Admins in my.scouting.org have access to all units in Scoutbook Plus, but this also gives the individual access to Registrar Tools so SEs need to be careful who they make a CA.

If you can tell us what you need to do in Scoutbook Plus, we can tell you what role you would need as many council level volunteers get additional permissions.

Well the Council Admin role was required in legacy to upload all of summer camp advancements in scoutbook after the fact. Theres also been some desire to have someone that can see units to help walk them through items, but I am not sure that council admin allows that access. If it did that would be rather useful too

@MartinMcNichols

Members of the Council Advancement committee can search for and see all units in the Council. District advancement committee members can see all units in the district.

Once MB upload is supported in Scoutbook Plus, council admins will be able to upload.

Council and District Key 3 and Key 3 delegates have the same access.
