To my experience it takes 5-10 minutes in a meeting to show all that is needed to show parents and then you have control that they saw it as opposed to them doing it them self
I am aware they (National) don’t have control over third party content, my point is they should consider creating their own content in the digital world we live in. Content on these platforms is ranked based on relevance, authority and SEO (search engine optimization). The fact that the video on the resource provided was created and published by a Council and not the National Level in itself supports your statement.
When a verified source doesn’t provide content and a gap exists it is often filled by unverified sources. I think it can be agreed that a decrease in the amount of information being shared from unverified sources would be a good thing.
I disagree about the 5-10 minutes. Maybe showing them for concept take 5-10 minutes but teaching them for retention is a different story. In some cases it takes 5 minutes just to get them to download the App and get signed in due to an unknown password.
Showing them from my interface often confuses them because my dashboard has different features and buttons as a Cubmaster and Den Leader.
ScoutBook+ also has so many other features like payment capabilities, calendar, activity tracking, rank advancement etc. If National is going to invest the R&D into a product we as volunteers need to invest the TIME and/or have RESOURCES to share with them.
@PaulIsaacson - since there is nobody from national on these forums i think you should direct your request to your council to raise the suggestion to National
ALL of the people in these forums ARE volunteers.
These are the instructions we currently use:
From the Scoutbook (legacy) homepage, tap Reports Menu and Report Builder Manager. To see what requirements your den needs to complete, make a new Cub Scout report (or reuse a shared report):
- Select the checkmark for your den
- Under the Badge your den is working on, select
- The first six Adventures (the required adventures)
- Other elective Adventures as desired
- Under Settings, select
- Show Empty Requirements
- Show Adventure Requirements
- Show Emblem Icons
- Show Header On Each PDF Page
- Auto-Select New Scouts According To “All” Checkboxes
