Cub Shooting Sports award auto marked complete by BSA Admin

I had a case where one of my Webelos all of a sudden had two wolf shooting sports pins marked completed by BSA Administrator. She had earned the patch and one pin. It’s very unlikely that anyone in my unit or council went through Internet advancement to add these pins from two years ago for this inactive Scout. I saw on the FB group for Scoutbook tips that another user had the same issue. I’m guessing there was something that changed that forced this auto completion?

I am not aware of any recent changes to the Cub Scout Shooting Sports awards.

Adding to the issue, I can’t remove the completion date. When I go to do so, the checkbox is greyed out. When I click on it, it says the level 1 patch must be earned first. The patch was already completed, approved, and awarded two years ago.

Could you include a screenshot (without the scout’s name) to make sure we are understanding correctly?

Does anything show up in your needs approval report for these?

I’m fairly certain you can remove it by adding the level 1 for that shooting sport. Then, go into the level 2 to remove the date. However, I’m more interested in finding out how it was marked complete by bsa administrator without being marked approved. I’ll send you a private message to get some info.

Yes, it shows in the needs approval report. That’s how I became aware that this happened.
