Deleted Calendar events stay on calendar

Events created at den or pack level and then deleted continue to show on the calendar and in subscribed calendars on Google calendars. Is this on the existing bug list, or are we doing something wrong?

@ShannonMollenhauer - first off. if properly subscribed it is 24 hours before a change is seen on a subscribed calendar. If the person used the ICS file then the events are static.

Assuming that the calendars were subscribed to, rather than imported, it will take until the calendar client reloads/refreshes the feed from the host. That’s outside the control of the Scouting America IT team, and depends on the calendar host. Google Calendar, for example, only updates subscribed calendars once in any given 24 hour period, as far as I know.

ETA:

I’ve occasionally had to force a refresh of the calendar page to get changes to appear (although they’ve already occurred, as tested by opening the calendar page in a new browser window to see if it was just a refresh issue).

@ShannonMollenhauer - the delete event works for me

We encourage all our parents to subscribe to the URL, but I’ll double check to see if there’s a difference. Maybe it’s just taking longer than most people expect for the deletion to update.

@ShannonMollenhauer - that is totally outside of scoutbook’s control how quickly the subscription updates.
