Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
Hi… I’m not sure if it’s the new version of the extension, or that I recently upgraded my Chrome to Version 86.0.4240.111, but I’m suddenly getting an error that the extension is disabled, and to re-enabled it I need to accept the new permissions: “Read and change your data on a number of websites”.
A scout is Trustworthy, but I’m still checking here to make sure it’s safe to enable those permissions. Any thoughts?
The extension expanded the number of domains it can handle - they are all still scoutbook domains. You can check this by clicking on the 3 vertical dots on the top right of the Chrome browser, More Tools, Extensions, then Details. All the domains are BSA scouting domains.
So yes, it is safe. The extension only has the capability to read/modify scoutbook data.
