Error when attempting to add a Den Chief to a den

I am attempting to add a Den Chief back into the den he served last year, but I am getting the following error:

Error - Youth already has a den chief position in the denId(s) 265874

The Den Chief’s ID number is 12844328.

Neither the Scoutmaster nor I (Cubmaster) can figure out how to fix the issue, even after ensuring we ended his position with the den from last year.

@TobyLichtle we are blind on DC issues - I would end the DC position in the troop > then try to reinvite
