Error: Youth does not have the necessary merit badges for this rank continued discussion

Someone else posted about this topic in August, but that discussion thread is now closed. Our Troop has a Scout who has completed Life Rank. Eleven Merit Badges are shown as completed on the SB+ requirement 3 on-line page with all pictures showing the Merit Badge completion date. However, when requirement 8, the BOR is checked as completed, SB+ returns the message “Youth has not completed the necessary MB for the rank.” This Scout did complete the work and has a signed BOR in the handbook. This appears to be a system bug. Can someone please mark requirement 3 as complete for member ID 14819123 with the date of 9/4/2025. The BOR, requirement 8, and rank advancement was completed on 9/5/2025. Thank you for your help.

There was an update earlier tonight that should have fixed this issue. Please try an incognito window to make sure you are not using an old cached version.

If that does not work, please post a screenshot of the Scout’s Life Req 3.

Hello @edavignon Here is the screen shot of the required Merit Badges. I pulled this from an incognito window as you instructed. I also included the error message I see when I mark the BOR as completed. Thank you for your second post stating that the developers have found an issue with Life. We are awaiting your announcement of a fix. Is it possible for you to advance this Scout to Life in the meantime? The member ID and dates are in my original message.

@XiaSchirmer -a number of the merit badge show ONLY counselor approved and not unit leader or unit approved. Perhaps that is the issue as it leaves the scout 5 short.

This is a known issue. Developers are working on a solution. The SUAC cannot update data for Scouts.

@XiaSchirmer if it is a COH type time issue - Council can use their tools to force a date. If it is just entering the right date, you will be able to backdate once fixed
