Error: Youth does not have the necessary merit badges for this rank v2

I am trying to advance a scout to Life in SB+, but cannot do so without getting:

Error: Youth does not have the necessary merit badges for this rank.

I have gone through all the MB’s, made sure they were both approved, awarded and have dates set. In addition, ensured the count was correct. I cant even enter the BOR without getting this same message. All categories say Complete and even Life says Complete, but I cant do anything without getting this error. The scouts ID is 14170225. This is very similar issue to these:

I’m trying to advance a Scout to Life Rank. All the requirements are complete and have been marked off. Also, ScoutBook Plus shows that the required 11 Merit Badges have been earned. However, the system generates an error message that says the required merit badges have not been earned (even though I can see them).

@XiaSchirmer This is a known issue. Developers are working on a solution. The SUAC cannot update data for Scouts. Watch Scoutbook - Scoutbook Plus Change Log - Scouting Forums for an announcement of a fix.

Unless I overlooked something, do not see a resolution and this feels slightly different. Super frustrating to say the least. Sure would be helpful to have a better error message as well which actually describes the exact issue.

Please post a screen shot of Life Req 3, the Scout’s Scouting America Member ID (no names) and the date of the Life BOR.

I posted the scouts member ID in my original post (14170225). His BOR which I am not able to enter without getting this error was 9/3/2025.

Well I see BOR with a date 9/3 - I am guessing Approving throws the error?

Correct, “Mark as Approved/Recorded” on both the rank and BOR throw the error.

Hah!!! That did the trick. Well that is kind of crazy. Sounds like perhaps a logic bug. Now, if only the error message would have stated the issue, that sure would help. Thank you both…

@MTScout can you correct date date to 9/3 now?

That worked as well. When I initially tried, I did get a message about dates, but did not capture it in time. Refreshed the page, then retried 9/3 and it took it.

In trying to figure out what is going on the developers set the BOR to 9/3 so you will see the date changed if you look again.

Yes, I see 9/3 now. So when I tried to set 9/3 after setting 9/4 I received a warning about dates, but then it went to 9/3 when I refreshed and tried again. That must have been the dev’s entering 9/3 then and not me.
