As a Den Leader i should not be able to add an event to the Pack Calendar, but with the button for creating the event at the top of the page its easy to miss the calendar you are adding the event to. I think best practice would be to the creat event button at the bottom of the page so that you have to look at all the fields.
Are you listed (in red text under your name) as a Pack Admin?

I reported the same issue (supposedly it was passed along to developers). I’m a Den Leader and Den Admin. I should not be able to make events for the whole pack since I am not a Pack Admin.
