Requirement 7, in part, states “With your parent’s permission and counselor’s approval, prepare for an actual expedition to an area you have not previously explored; the place may be nearby or far away.” Does anyone have insight into what is considered an acceptable fulfillment of this requirement?
Thanks in advance,
Tom Carroll
@ThomasCarroll1 - that would be a question for the merit badge counselor

Thanks Stephen. I am the merit badge counselor. The merit badge guidance gives only very vague guidance and the only examples are the ultra grand slam, like accompanying a polar expedition. I am trying to find out what other Exploration merit badge counselors have judged sufficient.

This is a program question. The BSA has stated program questions need to be addressed to your Council and not in these forums.
