11/12/2023 V0.49.0.0 Enhancements in preparation of calendar removal from Scoutbook
Enhancements

  • New Internet Advancement compatible Add Invitees and Sending Event Messages have been added to the dashboard under Events and Messages, respectively. They work pretty much the same as the existing features in the extension, but should still be available when the calendar is removed from Scoutbook.

A banner message has been added to notify users of upcoming changes as well.

PLEASE NOTE
This version of the extension requires a new Cookies permission. This permission is necessary to enable the extension to communicate with Internet Advancement. The request from the Chrome Webstore to use a new permission in an extension also slows the Google review process down which can delay the public availability of the extension. It also adds the Internet Advancement Host and My.Scouting host permissions, which all use the Single Sign On and are required to be able to retrieve cookies and talk to IA.

  • The ability to email permission slips to parents (similar to the one generated by the calendar) has been added. Permission slip contains some additional information such as event charges, and parents of Scouts who did not RSVP No will receive the customized email.

  • Export Calendar to CSV and Import Calendar from CSV have been upgraded to work with Internet Advancement. When selecting those features, you have a checkbox to select the newer method (which is faster). When the Scoutbook calendar is fully moved to IA, the checkbox will disappear and the IA method will be used.
