Need help please. @edavignon
I’m trying to credit my Scout will Life rank, which he has earned, but he will not work because it says he doesn’t have all the required merit badges. Which he does have. But it wouldn’t let me save Life rank as completed. So I went back and look very closely at his merit badges.
There are TWO merit badges that I JUST entered for him last week, they were completed on 6/20/25 and 8/15/25. I entered them with the correct completion date. However, it applied the start date for each as the day I entered the MBs, which was 9/16/25. That was wrong. Both MBs were started much earlier than their completion dates. I did not enter those start dates. I only entered the entire MB as completed with a completion date of 6/20/25 and 8/15/25. I did not enter or update the individual requirements. Nor do I see a way to update or edit the individual requirement dates now.
I think the reason it will not let me mark off his Life rank as complete is because there is this discrepancy in his merit badges (I wish this discrepancy had created an error message when they were being entered!).
I am in the process of moving all our stuff from Troopmaster over into Scoutbook and still getting used to the system. I’m getting us ready for our upcoming Court of Honor. I accidentally awarded both of these, but I shouldn’t have - but I’m keeping a manual log of all the MBs I need to buy for my COH(thanks to @Stephen_Hornak )
To be honest, the only screen/page I can even SEE the started date for this MB is on his profile page, if I hover over the MB.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can fix this, so I can get him advanced in Scoutbook? (I’m going to advance him in real life either way, but would love to get this digital version of reality fixed).
TIA!
