How can I create troop wide reports for ranks and merit badges

I have spent 30 mintues trying to figure out how to post a question in the forum. The “how to post a question” image doesn’t match what actually shows up my screen. Here is what I’m trying to do- is there a report for rank work? I am trying to get an all troop report to see which scouts need to complete certain requirements for aqautic second class and first class. As we have 40 scouts, I don’t want to have to look up each one to see who needs to do what. I see a lot of reports for merit badges for individuals. I would also like to have an all troop report for what merit badges scouts have accomplished. I tried to go to MyScouting to run a report but wasn’t able to do so. Is there some sort of Scout BSA guide to scoutbook - I do not find the curent “help” tools to be helpful. I want super basic info on how to create/ run reports not super specific steps for specific situations, just broad, common info needed.

Thank you.

Margaret Kinney

@MargaretKinney in Legacy Scoutbook or in Scoutbook+, a Unit admin can do it at:

Legacy: Unit > Reports > Report Builder
SB+: Unit > Reports > Custom Tab - New Report

From there you choose the Scouts and what to show

I am a scoutmaster and when I went to SB+ and went to new reports there is a roster builder and the the option. I clicked on several boxes of what I wanted included in the rank, and times it told me no scouts were found. We have 32 scouts and I would think when I am asking for rank information, something would show up.
My other issue is that when I went looking for the image of finding, I did not find it when I went to scouting forums- there was no tab for “new topic”

New Topic is found at the Category/Sub-category level of Discourse
so Scoutbook - Scouting Forums - does not have it
Using Scoutbook & Scoutbook Plus - Scouting Forums - does have it

In SB+ > Reports - you click New Report (Top Right) then Custom Report (Report Builder) - then you select Scouts and the parameters you want.

@MargaretKinney - go to the troop in scoutbook classic then click on reports and look for this:

Then select Report Builder manager

Then under new report click Scouts BSA

This is what will be presented: select the items you want reported and in the bottom section select the scouts

@MargaretKinney

You had 2 registrations in both a Crew (Associate Advisor and Committee Member) and Troop (Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmaster) which per Scouting America policy is not permitted. We believe this is causing part of your trouble with reports.

The Northern Star Council registrar has expired (ended) the Committee Member and Assistant Scoutmaster positions. I believe an overnight sync is required to push the changes to all systems. Try again Wednesday and let us know if reports are working better.
