How do I search for an existing scout id

I have a new to the Troop Scout. He was a Cubscout several years ago. Unfortunately, his parents have passed so current care givers have no idea about his Scout career. He was probably a Cubscout in a different council. I’m attempting to search for his record in Scoutbook so I do not create a new record that will have to be merged in the future.

Scoutbook used to have a search feature when entering a new Scout, however, I wasn’t prompted to search for the existing Scout record. Any thoughts?
