There is nothing redeeming about the conversions over the past from basic Scoutbook before BSA got their hands in it to what is is now. Can’t find any information. Information disappears.
Have you looked at help.scoutbook.scouting.org? There are multiple help articles and videos for Scoutbook Plus.
In the years I have been helping support Scoutbook, information has never “disappeared”. Any information that has been “lost” was due to someone deleting the data, not because of a system issue.
I’m not going to get into any arguments over this. I’ve been a member of this forum for 6 years and have researched each and every problem I have had with Scoutbook. Various logs have disappeared randomly, now I can’t get at adult leadership position tenure and am being referred to get that information from council. Being told that I can’t have more than one adult in some leadership positions is not BSA’s decision. It’s a unit’s decision. I could go on and on. I’m done and going back to Troop Master.
be careful with not using Scoutbook. National is judging units and councils on what is put in scoutbook. This is from my Council President. we are one the 3, 3 star councils, and are on working getting our unit stats up because no one told us that Scout book is how we are judged.
I agree completely, they have done nothing but take a good, useful site, and dismantle it and make it useless.
@JeffreyBrandon An adult being registered in only one position in a unit is and has been a Scouting America thing and has nothing to do with Scoutbook or Scoutbook Plus. “There are no restrictions on the number of positions one person may hold, as long as the individual serves in only one position per unit with the exception of the chartered organization representative (CR), who is the only individual that can be registered in more than one position within the same unit. The CR may also serve in a multiple capacity as the committee chair (CC) or as a member of the committee (MC, NM, or PT) within that unit.”
Kenneth, you have touched on only one of the many issues I have with Scoutbook. I have expressed my opinion and worked thru the forums to try and resolve my issues to no avail. So like I said. I am done with Scoutbook regardless of the implications. We have a very successful unit and it will remain the same with or without Scoutbook.
