iCal Calendar Feed not working

We use iCal to pull our Scoutbook events into a Google Calendar and then put that on our website. Currently, that is showing blank.

I also tried to use the iCal link in an iCal viewer and I still not see any events. Is anyone else experiencing an issue like this?

have you changed the .ics URL? it is not www.scoutbook.com any more it is Scoutbook.scouting.org

Yes. I updated that right after the URL change and it was working.

mine too. I just re-loaded the calendar URL into my google calendar and its blank now as well

It seems to be working for me on my iPhone calendar. Is it possible it’s a Google issue?

It’s working OK on my personal google calendar (both on mobile app and desktop browser views), whether or not I’m currently logged into Scoutbook.

Our troop’s calendar is not displaying on the troop webpage, however. It’s throwing this error:

Events from one or more calendars could not be shown here because you do not have the permission to view them.

I would need to check with our webmaster to see if he updated the link to the latest domain (scoutbook.scouting.org).

Strange… it’s working now. Not sure what happened.

This is still an issue for me. This entire school year, I have been able to see our Calendar in both my iPhone’s Calendar app and Calendar on my MacOS devices, but since ~January I have not seen events updated on my devices that are most definitely different on Scout book. How do we resolve this issue?

Does it still have a scoutbook.com url? Or did you update it to scoutbook.scouting.org?

Well, that’s a change that wasn’t clearly communicated or easy to find. That’s the trick!

I didn’t know the calendar subscriptions were changed, so thank you @jacobfetzer.

I recommend subscribing to the Scoutbook change logs forum for these announcements:

Thanks, but I am not interested in keeping up with every single change to Scoutbook. It really needs a more concise, user-friendly set of updates. I’ve seen notification bar updates on the site related to many things, but never this calendar change. I’m not sure how I would have seen it other than jumping in here.

I’m having the same issue. Did you figure out how to fix?

What would you like to see instead of a push notification to you that there are updates to Scoutbook?

SUAC members write the change log, so if there’s something different you want/need, let us know. Preferrably with clear and actionable examples of what you like and do not like. If there’s enough interest, we can incorporate it somehow.

But the whole point of a change log is to record ALL of the changes happening, so updates are as transparent as possible. I don’t forsee doing away with the change logs, and I personally would be unhappy if they were less informative.
