Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
I’m a unit admin and the AC and committee member for our troop. I’m printing off Advancement reports for the troop. I started them the other day and finishing them up today. I’ve been able to print the individual advancement report and the other day was able to print out the Incomplete MB Report but today it’s saying I suddenly don’t have access. None of my permissions have changed and I was able to do this without issue on Tuesday night. I have 5 scouts left and suddenly can’t pull up the incomplete MB report.

Access to report is denied. You do not have required positions/permissions to run this report.
I understand that…. You didn’t read my full post then. Those permission changes have nothing to do with this issue because I do have permissions and I literally printed out half of our troop with zero problems less than 48 hours ago. They didn’t change the permissions again in the last 48 hours. That was changed long before the last 48 hours. I literally printed out half of the troop with absolutely no issue whatsoever. I just didn’t get to finish that night because I had to go so I was planning on finishing it up today on my day off.I’ve already verified that I have the permissions and I am an admin as well as the advancement chair so that feature is something that is a part of those permissions. Hence why I’m here. Why would I have access not even 48 hours ago and be able to print it no problem and now suddenly long after they changed the permissions that you are talking about and after all of that was already changed from the key three? I did explain this in my post though. So I’m not really sure why you’re reverting back to Old information that’s already been around for a while at this point. This is not related to those changes and I’m kind of really finding that your answer is really unhelpful. Which in all honesty is just adding to the frustration of this entire thing. I’m just looking to try to fix this issue that I didn’t have less than 48 hours ago and now I suddenly do.
The issue is with your permissions. In Scoutbook Plus, by default Advancement Chairs have very few permissions. Since you have not been given any additional permissions by your Key 3, you are limited in what reports you can run and what you can do in Scoutbook Plus.
You need to ask your Key 3 to review the post Donovan pointed to and give you additional permissions.
So then tell me why I was able to pull up the reports on Tuesday evening/Wednesday morning and then suddenly on Thursday unable to. Those permissions were changed long before yesterday. I was GIVEN those permissions by key 3…. I have said this more than once. And you are not understanding that I was able to access and print half of the troop Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning. But suddenly no access on Thursday? That makes zero sense.
Ed and Donovan are telling you what they can see in the database for your current permissions, and they’re saying the current settings don’t get you access to that report. So, if your permissions were previously upgraded to get you access, then either they have been changed again since then or what those permissions settings get you access to has changed.
I don’t know if there’s a way to see how/when the permissions have been changed (for example to see if someone in your Key 3 unintentionally “defaulted” your permissions back to what the AC default permissions are after someone else “upgraded” them). As a Key 3 Delegate, I didn’t see anything in the SB logs for my unit for the timeframe when I was resetting everyone’s permissions.
I recall seeing another post recently about someone who could run certain reports but not others. In that case the bug was that they should not have had access to the reports based on the permissions then assigned. I wonder if that bug erroneously permitting access was fixed, and fixing that is what removed your access.
