Individual Advancement and history report missing empty rank reqs

Trying to print advancement reports (and history reports) for my troop as this is how scouts get signed off during meetings and i have a number of scouts that it doesn’t show empty rank requirements. Why do some scouts not show all the ranks and requirements while others do? This is happening on both the history report and the advancement report. is this something that needs to be done per each scout on the backend?

@DavidOrschel at the bottom of the report is an REF# - the Scouts Member ID # - you can post these 2 things then explain what the issue is on that report and we can take a look. Also are you printing these reports from the Unit page? Is it the same if printed from the Scout Profile?

Running either an advancement or history report from either scoutbook or scoutbook plus ranks are not showing the requirements for my newest scouts. (some work others dont) in scoutbook this is under troop reports under plus it is from the roster for my unit.

@DavidOrschel these were these run in the last few days?

@DonovanMcNeil ran them yesterday 6/4/2025 and just reran them and same result

@DavidOrschel can you run a report again and get the REF off the Report - not the PDF if there are errors please

@DavidOrschel OK - on Report DEVs did not see anything missing - I can now see reports - give me an example of a Scout (give Member ID# - no name) - and exactly what you think is missing please.

If it is these Closed Ranks - that appears to be a new feature - that SUAC has advised to be reverted and ranks left open as it is unneeded programming

yes. but this only affects a few of my scouts. it makes these reports useless for troop tracking and sign off. I sure hope this isnt the new expected behavior of these reports as your last update seems to indicate.

@DavidOrschel Sign off like that is not the intended use of them - but we see how that could be used as opposed to a whole book - we have asked for it to revert to all showing

Hi - not sue if this is the correct place to ask this, but I’m running Individual Advancement reports and they no longer show the percentage of completion of the merit badges that have been started. Do you know a way to edit the report to show that? Thank you.

@KarenCourtney the IAR never showed Merit Badges as it is rank based. The History report shows Partial meritbadges, but has always showed missing requirements. Where you using a self made custom report to show %?

The IAR used to show merit badge percentage (if not completed) in the rank requirements for Star / Life / Eagle. Something like:

Camping 15%

OH there - hmmmm? @JenniferOlinger - seems on the eagle choice ones or electives might still need to be blank?

Yes, when I would previously print the report from the scouts page, it would show the completed merit badges for star/life/eagle and the incomplete ones and what percentage they’ve completed and then blanks if they were missing any. I would run the report either choosing troop reports, BSA Individual Advancement Report and choose which scouts I wanted or go into the Scout’s page and choose run advancement report. Now it just shows the badges that are complete and the date. It was very helpful seeing what they were working on.
