Is There a Report Available Showing Scouts and Leaders in Scoutbook not in MyScouting?

While we all know that a Scout or leader should be registered in MyScouting (paper or electronic) where they are automatically added to Scoutbook, we know that there are units who are impatient with the registration process and manually add Scouts and leaders using Adding Scouts and Leaders to Your Unit - Scoutbook Knowledge Base .

Our council registrar posed a great question for which I, as the local council Scoutbook champion, do not have the answer.

Is there a report from either Scoutbook or MyScouting which reports on those Scouts and leaders entered into the Scoutbook system who are not yet registered with MyScouting?

This might also be a good way to audit at the council level, those members with duplicate records.

Thanks for any insight you can provide.

In the Roster they will appear with a yellow Triangle in Scoutbook

Agreed from the unit perspective for unit reporting.

I may have misstated the question as our council registrar is seeking to either generate or access a report from her side (MyScouting, Scoutbook, or other method) for units across the council.

Again, thanks for any insight you can provide.

Council could submit a ticket for such a report to National - but what are they even going to do with it? “Why is Lou an Admin in your unit?” - “Well he knows it better than any of us.” - On Scouts they do not fully function if not in unit. You cannot approve anything.

Hi Donovan,

Your point is well taken. I’ll ask her, but I supposed it might be a method to “true up” registering, say, a Scout parent who is connected to their Scout and is not a registered adult, but accessing youth records with sensitive information (youth protection and all) as a unit administrator.

But I will inquire on what she is looking for.

Thank you!

A person cannot be a leader of any kind unless they have a registered MID in Scoutbook.

Confirmed! I checked with a pack that I am associated with and tried every which way to make a Scout parent an admin. I should have checked that before posting!

I posed the question back to the council registrar and am awaiting a reply.

Thank you for making this VERY clear!

Lou
