Key three with problems with scoutbook

Hi, I am the Scoutmaster of a troop and have always been able to add and change adult leadership position (including admin rights) and connect merit badge counselors to my scouts but now it doesn’t seem like I can. I have searched for articles thinking maybe something has changed but it doesn’t look like it. Thank you for your assistance

@MicheleHoldosh your question is a little vague. Can you be more specific what you are trying to do? All the MBC stuff is still in Legacy Scoutbook (scoutbook.scouting.org). There is no longer an admin position to give.

there are these changes - A major focus of the migration to Scoutbook Plus is to have positions mirror the positions shown in My.Scouting to ensure positions were reflected accurately in both platforms. The main purpose it to honor the guidance of our charter organizations and the positions they approve. Therefore, Scoutbook Plus does not use Legacy Scoutbook positions. Registered positions are used to provide base permissions. Some additional permissions can be added by the unit, however, there are restrictions on what can be given. Hi Donovan! Yes, after I sent the message I saw the link to the “Scoutbook Plus permissions” video and that helped me with giving certain leaders permissions they needed. So that problem as been solved.

But I am having trouble connecting MBC will scouts on a specific merit badge. For example, my scout X is working with MBC Y and I need them connected so the MBC can update the completion information. I used to know how to do it but do not see how to do it now.

help.scoutbook.scouting.org has a ton of info. If a MBC is already connected to the Scout - you can just go to the Scouts Connection and either add MBC or add the merit badge
