Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
After logging into my.Scouting I select the “View ID Pass” and then select my name to display the “Membership Card”.
I select “Save in Wallet” and it opens the default browser with a URL of https://my.scouting.org/api/passbook?passbookId=” which cannot be accessed. A dialog appears which reads
Failed to Add Pass
An error occurred while adding the pass to Wallet. Please try again later.
[OK]
This failure has continued since the middle of August. It last worked for me in November 2024.
@JeffreyAltman- there is nobody on the forums that supports my.scouting.org or its functionality. Please work with your council to have a member care ticket entered.
Same here. It was working, then broken for a long time, then working again in late 2024, then evenly noticed it was broken again. Seems to behave exactly as it did last time it was broken. For me, is no use for the card other than novelty. Have you encountered a scouting activity that used them? It would be neat, but then it would also have to be more robust.
I have never required proof of pack membership at a “scouting” event. However, there are circumstances where proof of membership is necessary to obtain discounts from museums, zoos, professional sports teams, etc.
I’ve never been asked by a parent or other leader for proof that I am trained. Being able to show the membership card saying what my role and training status is would be nice. I have a paper card in my physical wallet from training but there isn’t any reason it should be trusted.
